An eating house is defined as a location that sells a variety of food or beverage goods to the general public for consumption. This includes all stores, restaurants, dhabas, food trucks, cafes, and other food and beverage establishments.

What is an Eating House Licence?


An eating house licence is a requirement for operating a business in which any type of food or beverage is legally available for consumption. The Delhi Police Act governs its operations. In India, along with other licences, the licence is required for starting a food business. 

How do I obtain my licence? 


The applicant can apply for an Eating House License directly with the government; however, the process is lengthy and will take 30-60 days.

To begin the process of obtaining a licence, the initial applicant must receive a user ID and password by submitting a request letter in person along with the Eating House's details.

For each application for an Eating House License, the information must be filled out precisely. All required documents must be uploaded.

Once your application is complete, you must meet with the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Licensing to have your application and other supporting documents analyzed.
